The Villas’
story

The Santorini Villas Philosophy

A traditional villa in Santorini

Since the devastating earthquake that hit Santorini in 1956, many properties on the island had been abandoned in a state of sorrowful disrepair.

With veritable concern and genuine care, the developer of Santorini Villas took an active interest in the village of Megalochori in 1999.

Personally investing in bringing the village back to life, he provided water and electricity, created the colourful traditional taverna ‘raki’ and remodelled the Central Square or village "plateia". All were costly elements in rejuvenating this beautiful island settlement.

The developer’s personal investment in rehabilitating the village of Megalochori allowed him to make his dream come true as he wished it could be recognized beyond the borders without however losing any of its original Cycladic charm.

The renovation of these landmark

Santorini private villas

His objective, in terms of acquiring these Santorini properties, was to renovate and repair every Santorini mansion with painstaking attention to original traditional detail without compromising modern day comforts and luxury. Modern architectural elements were introduced to the interiors, providing pure, inspirational space for contemplation and relaxation.

Each of these Santorini luxury villas has been strategically designed and configured under the consideration of Feng Shui application and certification and Geomancy, the environ energy cleansing.

Renovated with love and attention by local craftsmen and their traditional knowledge, the villas have been restored with traditional local materials including rock and wood, using soothing, organic colours from the five elements of the earth.

Privacy, seclusion and exclusivity are kept at an optimum in Santorini Villas and Mansions. Each of these landmark Santorini private villas, ranging in size from 40 – 400 square metres is surrounded by fenced in land of at least 1,000 square metres. The sheer spaciousness of both interiors and exteriors and the price paid to stay in them is phenomenally low when compared to the range of accommodation found in Santorini today.

Generous, amply sized swimming pools, in many cases larger than those found in hotels on the island, and Jacuzzis bordered by olive trees and other indigenous shrubs in pots and urns, provide respite, rest and play from the scorching Santorini sun.

All houses come complete with a car and the private restaurant "raki" in Megalochori can cater for all meals whenever our guests are not in a mood to cook, offering exquisite saviors.

Authenticity in our

Santorini properties

Santorini Villas and Mansions offer a taste of life from by - gone days on the island combining stylish and comfortable design.

Since 1999, various properties on the island that had been abandoned were acquired in a state of disrepair since the devastating 1956 earthquake. Following intensive research in the local architecture, the properties have been lovingly renovated using only the best materials sourced both locally and from the Greek mainland.

Harnessing local knowledge, as for many centuries, the islanders have adapted to make best use of local materials, the end goal was to blend the functionality and aesthetics of the old villas with the surrounding village. Bridging the gap between old and modern architecture was another important factor through introducing modern, stylish comforts that blended in unobtrusively with authentic detailing.

The results are truly inspirational and one of a kind. Authenticity and purity of design and spirit has been maintained and accentuated, providing villas of bespoke privacy and comfort.
